18th ANNUAL /TRIBUTE TO THE ARTS/ LUNCHEON TO HONOR FIVE

On Friday, May 9th the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (BFAC) will be holding its 18th annual /Tribute to the Arts/ Luncheon. This luncheon celebrates the positive influence of the arts in Bethlehem and recognizes an individual artist, arts organization, and corporation that have made a significant impact on the city.
This year’s individual honoree is Mr. Charles Kiernan, president and guiding light of the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild, the corporate honoree is Keystone Nazareth Charitable Foundation, a major funder of arts across the Lehigh Valley, and the arts organization honoree is The Friends of Music of Bethlehem, a long-standing organization dedicated to the study, performance and appreciation of music in the Lehigh Valley. This year BFAC will present two additional awards. Professor Lucy Gans will be honored with a special award for social impact for her exhibit last year,“In Our Own Words,” raising awareness about domestic violence. The Mayor’s award will be presented to Gregory Warmack “Mr. Imagination,” a nationally recognized outsider artist celebrated for his artistic spirit and visionary work.
Mayor Callahan will present the awards and give an address. The public is invited to attend the /Tribute to the Arts /luncheon, which will be held at noon at the Hotel Bethlehem. Tickets are $35 and may be reserved by calling Barbara Diamond at 610-691-8269.
