Individual Award

Ramona LaBarreBorn into a musical family and influenced by the music scenes in Austin and later Boston, Ramona LaBarre has been a tireless volunteer for music venues in the Lehigh Valley. Beginning with her years of dedication to Godfrey Daniels, where she now serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, and chairs the Artistic Committee, among other roles, she has expanded her efforts to volunteering at various music festivals in the region. She provides annual conference support with Folk Alliance International, and holds an Executive Board seat for the Northeast Region of Folk Alliance. In addition, she volunteers for WDIY radio, the LV Storytelling Guild, and other arts organizations and events. Of particular note is her persistence in serving Celtic Cultural Alliance. After being laid off with the rest of the staff after a discouraging rain-drenched Celtic Classic, she continued to work free of charge and helped resuscitate the event, where she now volunteers as chair of the Festival Finance Committee. We honor her for her passion and extraordinarily tireless service to the arts.

Arts Organization Award

Lehigh Arts AllianceThe Lehigh Art Alliance, founded in 1935, is an organization for amateur and professional artists in the Lehigh Valley that provides cultural and educational programs such as exhibitions and lectures. The Alliance has always attempted to serve the artist and the local community equally. In recent years, the LAA has been primarily focused on its annual Spring and Fall juried exhibitions, held in exhibition space donated by various Lehigh Valley institutions, as well as occasional smaller shows of selected member-artists. Lehigh Art Alliance's general meetings, open to the public, often feature guest speakers on the arts. Speakers have included Cao Ying-Yi of China, Myron Barnstone of Barnstone Studios, Charles Dent of Leonardo da Vinci's Horse, Inc. and Steve Tobin, internationally known sculptor. We honor Lehigh Valley Arts Alliance for its outstanding support for the arts in our community.

Corporate Award

Deja BrewOver the last 15 years, Déjà Brew Coffeehouse and Deli in the heart of Bethlehem’s south side has become an important arts hub. Owner Jeff Vaclavik has made it a display space and gathering place for artists including writers, photographers, painters and musicians, to exchange ideas. It was the birthplace of the SouthSide Film Festival in 2003, and now the shop is the Festival headquarters where filmmakers from all over the world mingle with audiences and workshop participants and volunteers. Déjà Brew has also been the venue for impromptu live music shows, the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Festival, independent film screenings and shoot locations. The walls, ceiling, and even the furniture of the shop are decorated with original works by local painters, photographers and craftspeople, as well as posters from films shown by the SouthSide Film Festival. We honor Déjà Brew for providing constant support to our city’s arts scene. Deja Brew
